PLEDGE: Washington Educators Say No On I-1552

Opponents of Washington's values of diversity and equality are asking voters to sign a new ballot initiative, I-1552, to repeal Washington's non-discrimination protections for our transgender friends, neighbors, and family members. If they gather enough voters' signatures, discrimination will be up for a vote on Washington's ballot this November.

Repealing these protections will cause real harm to transgender students, who are already more likely to be harassed and bullied because of who they are. Repealing these protections sends the message to transgender students that they aren’t worthy of the respect and privacy their peers enjoy. And it opens our schools to costly lawsuits that they just can't afford.

Add your name now to help stop this dangerous initiative from reaching our ballot:

NO— I will not sign I-1552. I pledge to decline to sign Initiative 1552. I agree we should uphold Washington's non-discrimination protections and ensure fair and equal treatment for our transgender neighbors, family and friends!
